Caldwell

Our freight tracking system is one of a kind. It was designed in-house by Caldwell and developed by Manage, Inc. Once you log in, you can find the status of any of your shipments, view/print/email bills of lading and proof of deliveries. We allow tracking by pick up date, acknowledgement number, purchase order number, shipper's number, bill of lading number, or pro number.

EDI
We transfer information via EDI with many of our major manufacturers and a few retailers. We receive 204's (bills of lading) from various manufacturers electronically, which we in turn convert to a freight bill. By using this technology, errors are kept to a minimum and the unloading process is shortened. We also create 214's (shipment status) and 210's (invoices) for customers who do not wish to receive paper invoices. We look forward to expanding the number of our EDI trading partners.

Imaging
Our document management system is probably our greatest asset. We have no more filing of documents in numerical sequence and no more searching through tons of paper to find a particular document. When we receive shipments, the bills of lading are scanned into our imaging system. After shipments are delivered, the paperwork goes through our driver check-in department and then to scanning. Lost documents are a thing of the past! Our images are stored on optical platters and access is quick and easy.

Barcoding & Scanning
For every piece of freight we pick up, we attach a serialized barcode label. All pieces are then scanned as they are unloaded from the trailer and scanned again as they are located to a bay in our warehouse or onto another trailer. Any time a piece is moved, it is scanned out of its current location and into its new location. The last scan takes place when the piece is loaded onto the outbound trailer to go out for delivery. The scanning technology we use is radio-frequency, which updates our systems in real-time.

Satellite Trailer Tracking
All of our trailers are equipped with satellite tracking devices. This allows us to know exactly where all shipments are at all times. This technology will soon be integrated into our website so that you, our customers, will know not only that your freight is out for delivery, but also its exact location.
